Medical insurance can be very complex in today’s health care environment. Surgery for symptomatic, advanced vein reflux, or varicose veins, is covered by most insurance companies. We submit the documentation necessary in order to obtain the maximum benefit available for our patients.
We are familiar with most insurance companies and will do your pre-certification prior to your varicose vein surgery or spider vein sclerotherapy. Because of the many variations in plan benefits, it’s always a good idea for you to verify your coverage as well. Once your insurance company has satisfied their obligation, you will be responsible for any balance.

Billing Department Personnel
Billing Manager: Kala Barnard, CCS-P, CMIS, CMOM
Kala is our office Billing Manager. She is certified in physician office coding by the American Health Information Management Association and by the Practice Management Institute as a medical insurance specialist and medical office manager. With more than 18 years of medical billing experience, she will make sure your medical claims are processed efficiently and will be happy to assist you with any billing concerns.
Surgery Coordinators: Gerry Salvaggio, CMC, CMIS & Angela Lang
Gerry and Angela are our office Surgery Precertification Coordinators. Gerry is a certified medical coder and medical insurance specialist by the Practice Management Institute and has over 12 years in billing experience. Angela has many years experience as an executive assistant and will be studying for certification as a certified medical insurance specialist soon. They are responsible for handling all surgery precertification for our various locations prior to your surgery and will send you an estimate in advance of surgery and work out payment plans when necessary.
Insurance Coordinators: Buddy Wyble, CMC & Sheila Burrell, CMIS
Buddy and Sheila are our office Insurance Coordinators. They are responsible for obtaining insurance benefits on all new patients prior to their arrival, and following up on claims for our various locations. Buddy is a Certified Medical Coder by the Practice Management Institute with over 14 years in the medical field, and Sheila is a Certified Medical Insurance Specialist with over 17 years experience. Both Buddy and Sheila will be glad to answer any questions you may have regarding your insurance plan.
Patient Advocate: Ashlea Davis
Ashlea is our office Patient Advocate. She is responsible for making and answering patient calls regarding their balances as well as setting up payment arrangements for our various locations. She will be happy to assist you with questions or concerns regarding your account balance and offer payment options when necessary.
